I decided to buy the 1TB version when I started running out of room for storing virtual machine files on my 6+ year old desktop(which still works reasonably well). This external hd has more than enough space for me to store my VMware virtual machine files. Transfers are reasonably fast for a usb connection.

I did one time receive a delayed write error while downloading vmware package for a linux os, although it may have been as issue with my page file as I have write caching turned on. I did wish that it also offered an eSATA connection but I won't hold it against the product as it is already a great bargain. -- Excellent Product

I had purchased a smaller drive several years ago and was ready for a larger unit. I had also purchased a 1.0TB drive for my son. When this offer became available, I quickly called several of my associates for opinions and recommendations. All is good. The size is perfect - the way it sits on my counter is perfect - the way it works is fast and perfect and if I need more storage I'll purchase another one! It is so nice to finally have enough room for all my recorded TV shows and movies all in one spot. I like the way it has it's own power source and doesn't add that draw to my computer. As far as I am concerned it's the greatest thing since sliced bread - everyone should own at least one of them....oh...and Amazon.com delivered it fast no problem! -- The best thing since sliced bread!
